This music for this song I had kicking around for a few weeks but I had no lyrics to fit. Then a girlfriend told me about her brothers’ experiences in Iraq and that was the perfect inspiration. Insh’allah (God Willing) - sometimes can take away the responsibility of getting things done, especially when you have a ‘whatever happens will be God’s will’ ethos.
This version is a new recording made January 2012.
lyrics
They say God helps those who help themselves,
Not sure I’m hearing him right,
It’s up to him, not up to me, takes away my responsibility,
But right now things are falling apart at the seams here,
There’s desperation, dissention,
But what can one do here,
Insh’allah there will be a peaceful day the world will be much better,
Insh’allah there will be an end to all injustice in this land,
Until then we’ll just sit and wait and see,
He’s got the whole world in his hands,
The whole wide world it’s out of our hands,
But nothing’s better, in truth it’s getting much worse now,
Must be a reason, it’s just that we can’t see the overall plan the bosses scheme for,
Insh’allah there will be a peaceful day the world will be much better,
Insh’allah there will be an end to all injustice in this land,
Until then we’ll just sit and wait and see,
There is a girl in the village,
There’s something special about her,
But she’s just a girl, just an ordinary girl,
Just a simple ordinary girl,
What can she, what can she change?
It’s always been this way,
It’s just the way it’s always been,
Or so it seems, they tell us we believe, that Insh’allah...
Oh he’ll make it better,
Yes he’ll kiss it better,
We hope and pray, we hope and pray,
But right now things are falling apart at the seams here,
There’s desperation, dissention,
But what can one do here,
Insh’allah there will be a peaceful day the world will be much better,
Insh’allah there will be an end to all injustice in this land,
Until then we’ll just sit and wait and see,
